Current Positions
The Amadeus Orchestra;
Guest Conductor (2005)
This professional ensemble, upon consulting its board of music advisors, chose Wood to conduct its first concert after the death of its founding conductor.

Montgomery Symphony Orchestra; Music Director, (since 2002)
This orchestra with a fifty-year history sustains affiliations with the Montgomery County Composer’s Forum and the Maryland State Music Teachers Association, whose competition winners perform with the MSO.

Washington Conservatory Orchestra; Music Director, (since 1995)
The WCO is a full orchestra of amateurs and volunteer professionals. Its repertory includes neglected works and lesser-known composers.

National Cathedral School & St. Albans School (since 1996), Director of Instrumental Music (since 2002); Fellowship to Italy, 2002
The instrumental program includes several ensembles that perform in Washington National Cathedral, often with the Chorale.

Fairfax Symphony Orchestra; Assistant Conductor (since 2001)
The Fairfax Symphony maintains an annual operating budget exceeding a million dollars. Wood has conducted the FSO at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival and recently wrote, arranged and directed and a new concert presentation for children.

Washington Savoyards; Music Director, Conductor (since 2004)
This Washington-area institution presents fully-staged works in the Duke Ellington Theatre in Georgetown, concentrating on the works of Gilbert & Sullivan.

Eldbrooke Opera; Conductor, (since 2003)
Housed in a national landmark building, Eldbrooke Opera brings fully-staged performances of great operas directly into the Northwest Washington community.

Recent Positions
American University Orchestra; Conductor-in-Residence, 2003-2004
A year-long interim position which led to a considerable growth of the orchestra in size, quality and morale as well as highly-regarded performances.

Signature Theatre; Associate Conductor, 2000-2003
Including Guettel’s “Floyd Collins” and Krieger’s “Sideshow”(Best Resident Musical, 2001 Helen Hayes Awards) at the theater considered Sondheim’s “home away from home”.

Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra; Guest Conductor, 2001, 2005
After guest conducting in the past, Wood was asked to present a 2005 performance based on Spanish themes and featuring many of his own arrangements.
